Hi I'm Martha

I love spending time with my family and seeing the marvelous world we live in. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. My husband was in the military so we were able to live in many wonderful places. I worked with special needs students for nearly 30 years before retiring. I still have a special place in my heart for them. I recently served a full time mission helping folks with their family history. I have an antique printing press that I'm trying to learn to use. I love to travel and learn new things.

Why I am a Mormon

I went to church with my parents but I never felt "at home" there, though I always believed in Jesus Christ and I felt there was a loving Heavenly Father who I could turn to in times of need. I had so many questions that the Protestant pastors couldn't answer but eventually, the Mormon missionaries did. I learned that families could be together forever and that all people, living and dead, have the opportunity to live with Heavenly Father again. I realized that LDS people are very optimistic and up-beat. I saw that they actually live their religion every day, not just on Sundays and they realize that happiness comes from helping others. All these things made me want to learn more about this religion. I joined the church nearly 30 years ago and have always felt at peace about the decision. I have appreciated the guidance, support and love of church members as I learned about the Gospel and as I raised my own children.

How I live my faith

I have been actively involved in Family History since before I joined the church. I especially enjoy helping others find their ancestors. I also encourage folks to write their personal histories or keep a journal - there is no better legacy to leave future generations.
