Hi I'm Cynthia

I'm an opera pianist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I moved to Texas 6 years ago for graduate school and was so happy here, I decided to stay. I've studied classical piano since I was 10 and I feel so lucky that I could make a career out of it. I have a studio where I teach piano privately and I regularly perform with opera singers. My family is spread all around the country so I travel and visit as much as I can.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints shortly after they were married. I'm grateful that I grew up a member of this church, but I've definitely had to make up my own mind about my testimony. It is a beautiful gospel with commandments that are meant to guide and protect me. My parents taught me these commandments as a child, and once I moved away from home 10 years ago, I had to choose to live the gospel on my own. I have felt the most happiness and peace in my life when I've studied the scriptures each day and sincerely prayed each morning and night. I feel confident when I do what is right.

How I live my faith

Church is more than once or twice a week for me. It's everyday. I feel guidance and promptings each day as I have personal scripture study and prayer. I enjoy classes during the week through my LDS Institute of Religion. And of course I feel recharged each week after my Sunday meetings. I love getting to use my music at church. Our church's hymns are a beautiful testimony of Christ and I'm grateful for all of the church meetings I've accompanied on piano.
