Hi I'm Travis Hardy

I enjoy road biking, I have a kidney transplant, deep dish pizza is my favorite food, I love to teach, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I graduated from ASU with a degree in Human Communication. Currently I work at a lawfirm in Tempe AZ. I am working on switching gears to go into teaching. Maybe its because I'm the youngest of five, but I love the attention of being in front of people. My favorite part of teaching though would have to be instilling confidence in others through something I say, or learning from things class members say. For the past 6 years I have known that I have bad kidneys. In August of 2009 I was placed on dialysis. I was devastated and almost thought it was the end of the world. Through my faith in God and the countless prayers of family and friends I was able to cope with it. It was tough, but I was able to live what I thought was normal life. On December 18th 2009, my cousin Lori LeDuc donated her kidney to me, to which I will be eternally indebted to her for. This has been a huge blessing to me. Through this challange i am able to come closer to God. A year ago, my bycicle was stolen from my upstairs balcony. I decided to upgrade to a road bike. its entry level but it gets the job done. I enjoy the time that i get to bike. It gives me time to thinK. I even sing my favorite rock songs. It is a challange to keep singing when I ride by pedestrians. I think its funny to see there reactions. Ever since a 5 month doctor prescribed fast from cheese, I can't get enough of peperoni pizza. For the past 2 years I have been trying to make up for lost time.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 4 yrs old i got dressed and ready for church in my prepi sweater vest and white button up shirt. I came out to the living room to find it empty. My family had left for church without me. I was devistated. For some reason I kneeled down and said a prayer that my family would come back for me. I no sooner stood up from my prayer when my Dad was walking in the door. They had forgotten me, and I am kind of glad they did. Because of this I was able to have prayer answer and learn that along with my earthly father, my Heavenly Father had not forgotten me. I know God answers our prayers. He has continued to answer the many prayers I have offerred in my life. This church has helped me grow closer to God and gain more understanding of who I am and what i truly believe. I was raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I did have to figure out if I believed the Book of Mormon and the church was true for myself. i belong to this church because it has brought peace to my life. Through the principles and ordinances found in this church, I have been able to develop a strong relationship with God, our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I strive to actively participate in this church because no other thing in this life brings as much peace and happiness to me. I know God answers my prayers.

How I live my faith

When I was 19 I served a 2 year mission for my church. I loved teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ and serving the people in Montana and northwestern Wyoming. I actively participate and with my local congregation. I get the privlidge of teaching our men's group. I strive to pray to God and study my scriptures daily. I enjoy building friendships with people, and try to keep a positive attitude which I know is contangious. Jesus taught us to love oneanother which isn't always easy. I know when i show love for others, it makes me feel good.
