Hi I'm Jake Lewis

I grew up in West Jordan, Utah. I'm the third child of five. I'm a missionary...and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play sports. I love pretty much every sport, but namely basketball, frisbee, volleyball, tennis, and football. I am the third child of out five in my family. I have an older brother and sister as well as a younger brother and sister. I love it because I have one of everything. I grew up in Utah and graduated high school in 2010. I went to college in DC for a year at Georgetown University and now I am a missionary in the Texas Houston Mission and lovin' it!!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My family has always been pretty strong in the church. I never really doubted that the church was true, but as I got older, I needed answers for myself. As I came across my own personal challenges, I needed to know for sure that the church was true. I received my answer through living the gospel principles. As I read the scriptures, attended church, and prayed to receive answers, I received confirmation that the church is entirely true. Nothing brings me more joy in my life or can bring me more joy. Everything about the gospel is great. It resolves all of the problems that I have. Whatever I´m struggling with, the solution can be found by applying the doctrines and principles found in the gospel and the scriptures. I know that my life has a purpose, that I am important, and that God is guiding me throughout my life.

How I live my faith

I participate in my church by attending church services every week. I support the leaders in the church by helping out with assignments that are given to me such as speaking in church or hometeaching families or individuals. I strive to read and study the scriptures as much as possible because they are truly God's words given through true prophets. Right now I´m serving a mission trying to find and teach as many people who are looking for the gospel and all the blessings that it brings. I know that it is a source of truth, joy, and hope. I desire to share it with everyone.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

Jake Lewis
God is our loving Heavenly Father. He is the Father of our spirits. He has a perfected, glorified, immortal body of flesh and bone. He is tangible. He is perfect and He knows and loves us perfectly. He knows us better than we know ourselves and He knows what is best for us. What He desires most is that we gain all of the joy and blessings that He experiences. He does all He can to make that possible for us. Show more Show less
