Hi I'm Tina

I grew up in Indonesia & have two children. I moved to the States in mid 2008 to be sealed to my eternal companion. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and grew up in Indonesia. I have worked in beauty salon in early 80's, then ran my own. I also have run a hardware store in late 80's. In mid 90's, I worked as an insurance agent for almost 10 years, then worked in an interior company as a sales representative. I moved to US in July 2008 and now work as a dough handler at a bread company.

Why I am a Mormon

I met the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1979 in my hometown, Solo, Indonesia. They helped the members and investigators to learn English for free, so I took advantage of that opportunity. After having some discussions/lessons about the Restoration of the Gospel, I started having testimony in the Gospel and wanted to be one of the members. Since my Father is a Buddhist, he didn't let me be baptized in this church. It took me another year to get his permission after I got my personal testimony about prayer. Heavenly Father has blessed me to find my golden ring that I left in a swimming pool bathroom after a very sincere prayer. I shared that personal spiritual experiences to my father that he finally felt comfortable that I joined the church. My spirit has grown since then and my testimony has given me strength to overcome all many challenges and trials in my life.

How I live my faith

I have always been involved in many activities, meetings, and service in the church. I started teaching the little children in my early membership for about 6 months, then I was called to lead and teach the teenage girls for many years. As I grew older, I got the chance to work with women over 18 years old both in branch and district. Serving in those callings has given me joy and even strength as I went through the toughest time in my life. The church members have been my second family where I can feel love, friendship and sisterhood. Every Sunday has always been the best day in the week since I received the truthfulness of the Gospel. My testimony of the restored Gospel is one of the greatest blessings that I have ever received and is always my treasure. I will not give it up for any reasons, that's why I have lived the Gospel and try my best to obey all the commandments and not compromise with the world.
