Hi I'm Suzanne and I'm a new Mormon!

Yes, I'm a new Mormon and I now have a new life as a Christian!

About Me

Doodling while listening to music, mastering the art of French cuisine, reading mysteries, Toastmasters and tap dancing in my garage are my hobbies and interests. I work as a healthcare safety professional and have fun whenever possible! Right now, I am experimenting with creating food that is also art and learning how to speak French by singing in my car. Who am I? Une dame d'un certain age! I am a single/divorced "woman of a certain age" who is no longer counting birthdays. I want to tap dance until I'm 105 years old!

Why I am a Mormon

Becoming a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in September 2011 was “the first day of the rest of my life”. Baptized as an infant, I had been an active member of various Christian denominations throughout my life. About a year ago, I felt in my heart and soul that something was missing. I began a search, reading a wide range of spiritual literature and attending more Christian churches; I was looking for a spiritual community where members "walked the talk". I admit that the Mormon Church was the last church on my list. I started with an on-line inquiry on Mormon.org. Several days later, I walked into a nearly ward and asked for a copy of the Book of Mormon and to speak to someone. Missionaries called me within 24 hours to answer my questions. I began a six week investigation of the church. By the third Sunday Service, I knew there was no turning back and that I found my spiritual home. I knew that I found the true church of Jesus Christ because I found people who truly live the Christian principles and values as taught by Christ. When I was baptized and confirmed, I had a profound sense of peace and gratitude and I began a new life as a Christian.

How I live my faith

I find ways to live my faith daily through service and reflection. My work in healthcare has new meaning for me. I have realized the joy of receiving through giving. At the end of each day, and on Sundays, I take the time to count my blessings and write in a gratitude journal.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Suzanne and I'm a new Mormon!
As a new member of the Church of Christ of Latter Day Saints, I find the Mormon lifestyle one of the greatest rewards. People have reached out to me in a amazing spirit of Christian kinship. The church is truly an extended family. Personal prayer, a healthy lifestyle, attending church services and participating in church activities along with spiritual and self-development provides a foundation for well-being. The Mormon lifestyle is very positive and based on giving, sharing and receiving support within a spiritual family that has Christian values and principles. Everyone is respected and valued as a brother-sister and as a child of God. Show more Show less
