Hi I'm Christopher

I'm a techie, a student, and an amateur inventor and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I was born in seattle Washington into a Navy family. My dad was a engineer working on the Navy's nuclear Submarines. We stayed in Seattle for about six months and then began the process of moving all over the place. I have lived in Washington, Florida, Idaho, South Carolina, Connecticut, and Wisconsin. In moving around I got the chance to meet many people and experience different parts of the country, and also with my dad being in the Navy I gained an appreciation for the work that millitary does to help keep us safe. I have always had a unique interest in science and inventing. I used these intrests to learn much about the structure of the universe, the way things work, and how I can use the tools we already have to do great things. I have dedicated much of my life in thinking of ways to make life better for all mankind. I feel that, while I am still inexperienced, there is much that I have to offer the world when my time comes. I was raised in the LDS church and I will always be gratefull for that. There are so many answers and so much peace that comes from the knowledge of God's plan that is found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was able, from an early age, to learn about Jesus Christ and about his sacrifice for all of us. I was also able to learn the answers to the questions of Why are we here? Where do we go after this life? and Where was I before I was born?

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised in the church I took the advice to pray and know if the church was true. I received an answer through the feelings of the Holy Ghost that this church is true, that the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the Earth through Joseph Smith, and that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that if we turn to God and ask Him, he will let us know the path we must follow.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the best I can to follow the example of Jesus Christ and sharing the knowledge I have with those around me. I served a full-time, 2 year mission for the church and now I am doing my best to help my family to live the gospel and I'm looking forward to starting my own family and continuing the process of discipleship.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Christopher
Missionaries share a special message about Jesus Christ and His Atonement for all people. They teach about our Heavenly Father’s great plan of salvation, which allows all people the opportunity to return to Him. They will always be respectful and are there only to help you grow closer to our saviour. Show more Show less

How does the Church finance its operations?

Christopher
The church is financed through Tithing. Tithing is a law that was taught by the Old Testament Prophet Malachi and has always been used to support and finance the Lords kingdom. In these days the law of Tithing is lived by giving one tenth of our income to the church for the purpose of building meeting houses, assisting those in need, and for the work of proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Christopher
The main thing that lets me know there is a God is the perfect order that is in everything. Us human beings do quite little to organize the world around us and yet everything works. There continues to be rain, crops continue to grow, and all the vast expanses of our solar system continue to remain balanced in such a way to allow us life. I have never been able to look at the ocean or the night sky and believe that we are the best this existence has to offer. I KNOW there is a God in Heaven who loves us. Show more Show less
