Hi I'm Mikell

I'm a storytelling, memory keeping, diaper tossing, baby juggling, nap advocate. I'm a wife and a mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am Mikell. Named after my parents. I grew up in many places, on the east coast, west coast, north and south of the equator. I have seen the poorest of poor and learned from them how to be happy without "things". I am dedicated to my God, my family, and my happiness. I have found and married my charming prince, and we have two beautiful babies. I am blessed to be a full time mom, it is the hardest work I have ever had and the most rewarding.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I chose to be. I was born into the church and raised by faithful parents who are my heros. My dad always told me I had the choice, my parents never forced me to go to church or to church activities. At first I went because they did, and I enjoyed it. I always felt comfortable at church. I was raised to be a good person with high standards, I felt there was something special about the church all through my youth so I continued to go. I made the choice to stay in the church in high school, but I suppose I was truly converted when I had committed myself to read the Book of Mormon from beginning to end. Afterward, I prayed for a confirmation from the Lord to know if it were true. I did not receive my confirmation that day at that point but instead have been blessed to receive multiple confirmations since then. Every time I sit to ponder on my life and what I have experienced I recall a memory that has strengthened my testimony in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a mormon because I chose to be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday when I do my duty as a mother and take care of my children. I teach them about Jesus Christ and I teach them to be good. I participate in church callings, I have worked as a sunday school teacher, I have worked with children ages 3-11 and now I am working with youth ages 12-18. I attend their weekly youth activities and help where needed with Sunday lessons in church. I live my faith by helping serve my fellow members, "comforting those that stand in need of comfort", and by serving where I can in my community. I live my faith by reading my scriptures, by praying, by believing.
