Hi I'm John

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in a little town in Utah, I fly helicopters and I love the outdoors.

About Me

I grew up in a small town and enjoyed being outside and playing in the open fields. I have a brother and two sisters. I enjoyed the outdoors while I was young and was also interested in music. I served a mission in both Texas and Oregon and enjoyed both areas. I have been flying for about 7 years now as a flight instructor and I am currently working on a Bachelors degree in Aviation Management from Utah Valley University. I enjoy woodworking, music, archery and firearms. I don't have much free time but when I do I like to spend it with my children doing whatever they want to do.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been lucky enough to have the gospel in my life, I was born to parents who were both active in the church. This early influence in my life, and the example they showed my helped shape my love of the Savior and his life. The gospel to me is both trust and faith in the Lord and service to my brothers and sisters. I love the gospel of the Savior in my life because I can see the blessings and comfort it has given me and I want my family to have the same. I have also been lucky enough to serve in the church, this has given me the chance to study even more, and just like the job I'm in, you find that you learn the most when you are studying to teach another. My testimony of the Savior gives me comfort in the world today; with all the craziness in wars and politics, the loss of values in the youth and business of my work schedule I know that the Savior lives and that he cares for me. That he loves me and that he wants me to continue no matter what the trials I have are. I love that I can share this comfort with my sweet wife and that we can have it together to teach our children and bless their lives. I know that Jesus Christ came to this world and provided me with the chance to be forgiven of my sins and receive the blessings of Eternal life. I love the Savior I am thankful for prophets today that receive revelation and direction for the world as it changes. I am thankful to feel the guiding comfort of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I have been lucky enough to be called to serve the young men aged 12-14. My calling allows me to help them weekly by preparing a lesson that teaches gospel principals, faith, service and helps them understand the life of the Savior. My calling also includes serving the same you men as the assistant scout master where we provide them more knowledge and action in service to others and self improvement. The Scouts encourage young men to be respectful, to be morally straight and to love themselves and others. For me this is especially important because one of the young men is my son. It is super important for me to be able to witness this process and be involved in it. Our young people are being left to the world to be taught and this allows me to not let that happen and to help you people become converted to Jesus Christ and to realize that the worlds teachings are not the teachings of happiness.
