Hi I'm Ric

I'm a father of 8, married for 19 years and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to golf, play softball, hunt with my kids and work...

Why I am a Mormon

Yes, I was raised as a member the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was raised in a family that taught me to be honest, love others, obey the commandments and that there are rewards and punishments associated with my actions... I knew that the values I was taught were in line with what made me feel good but I needed to know if the religion that I have been raised in was what my Heavenly Father wanted me to be associated with and if it was teaching correct principles and not just what the world finds acceptable at the time.. The wonderful truth of being a son or daughter of God and a brother or sister of Jesus Christ comes in developing a relationship through prayer. I find answers and peace through prayer. The answers have been received when asking if what I feel was true and in line with His will. The assurance of knowing that our Heavenly Father hears and answers our individual prayers gives strength and assurance to those who put action and faith to the test. In a day of so much commotion and unrest, it is a tremendous blessing to have felt the guidance of the Holy Spirit in making important decisions, including receiving a witness that the Book of Mormon is indeed holy scripture like the Holy Bible. What a blessing it is to have even more of God's word available to us, especially in today's world.

How I live my faith

I have learned that the more I serve, the happier and more content I feel knowing that I have made a difference in the life of someone else...the golden rule really works. In being a member of the Mormon faith, there are plenty of opportunities to serve others and develop wonderful relationships centered in our belief in Jesus Christ as the literal Son of God and the Savior of the world. If all people would live those basic teachings that Jesus Christ not only taught, but lived, the world would certainly know more peace. The associations developed in the service of others helps me remember how blessed I and my family have been. Life is good!
