Hi I'm Miranda

I'm a writer, a singer, a teenage philosopher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love literature, especially the classics like JRR Tolkien, Alexandre Dumas, Jules Verne, Edgar A. Poe etc... With literature I love drama and music. Someday I'd like to be in The Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I have a great ambition to be a writer, and I love solving a good riddle every once and a while, but I also like to sew and attend camping trips. Im interested in learning how to fence and becoming multilingual. I like taking a challenge when I can and I like to be different from the crowd. I like to consider myself a philosopher. I know life isint perfect. It wasnt meant to be, but I don't think that should stop us from enjoying the ride.

Why I am a Mormon

Being one of fourteen Mormons in my highschool has proved to be tough from time to time. Sometimes people challenge my faith with the misconceptions they've heard about the church. Sometimes I feel isolated from my classmates when their language and ideals contrast greatly from my own. but it comes as a great comfort to think of the bigger picture. Throughout my middleschool years I often felt I was insignificant. Now I know there is a greater being who knows my name and has the deepest love for me. I know he is aware of my struggles and every day when I say a silent prayer before school, I feel like He's there beside me, urging me forward. When most people are concerned about the end of the world or what happens after they die or trying to decide what is right and wrong in our society, I dont feel as scared or as worried about the country blowing up in a nuclear explosion because I know that the Lord has everything under control. I know I can rely on Him. I am proud to be a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am part of the youth group of the church, and I enjoy participating in my ward's choir. "Music is a song of the heart, yea a prayer of the righteous unto me and it shall be answered with a blessing upon their heads." (Doctrine and Covenants 25). Music has influenced my life so much and I want to share that music with others. I absolutely love my ward. The people there are like a second family to me.

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We believe that Heavenly Father sent us to earth to recieve a body so that we may learn and grow through our trails as well as prove ourselves worthy to live with him again when we die. Show more Show less
