Hi I'm Kira Bettcher

I was born and raised in the midwest. I'm a wife and a mother of four. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the midwest. I currently live with my husband and 4 children in the outskirts of a very small town. We love that we can walk into our yard surrounded by trees and enjoy the outdoors without interruption from anyone else. I educate my children at home. That doesn't leave a lot of time for hobbies but I do enjoy photography. My husband is my very best friend. We can talk and laugh for hours if given the opportunity. I greatly value my family, long distance phone service and naptime.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the church when I was born. I've always felt that the stories of Joseph Smith translating the Book of Mormon were simply historical fact. In college, I gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel for myself. I was away from home and made the choice to live the gospel teachings on my own. I know the peace that reading the scriptures brings into my life. The joy that comes from knowing that my Heavenly Father knows and loves me is immeasurable. The gratitude that I have for Jesus Christ, who died that I might live with my Heavenly Father again, humbles me on a regular basis. As I have read the scriptures, prayed and heeded the counsel of living prophets, I have felt in my heart that I am where my Heavenly Father wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith through everything that I do. I know that Jesus Christ is the example that I am to follow. I sometimes fail to live up to his example but am grateful for the opportunity to continue to learn and try again. At church I serve in the women's organization, assisting the women in learning and understanding the Lord's teachings. At home, I teach my children about their Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. As a family, we read scriptures together daily, have family prayers, learn and play together during Family Home Evening and serve others around us when we are able.
