Hi I'm Matt

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a dad of three kids with one on the way. I'm into technology gadgets & computers and college football, but my biggest love is my wife and kids. I love playing games with my children and taking the family on road trips. I'm a product manager so I help companies figure out what new products they should make, help make them and finally get them launched to the world. It's pretty fun but it keeps me busy.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I firmly believe that the Book of Mormon is the Word of God along with the Bible. My understanding of God's devine plan for me, including where I came from, why I'm here and where I'm going after this life give me great clarity and peace of mind that put my daily decisions and actions into an eternal perspective. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father just like I have an earthly father and he wants me to come home to him after this earth life. I also know that he sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die for me to give me the way back. I know Jesus lives again and loves me personally - that's awesome.

How I live my faith

I live my faith on a daily basis. I try to teach my children the scriptures by reading with them each morning and praying with them daily. Every Monday night we have Family Home Evening, which is an hour or so with the family when we'll sing songs, eat treats, play games and have a short lesson on following Christ. Even though it's called Family HOME Evening, some of our most fun nights have been in a nearby park or on a boat. It's just a night the kids can count on that we'll be together and do something special. I have served as a leader of the youth of our congregation. This includes teaching them the Gospel on Sunday and Scouting and outdoor skills on Wednesday nights. We also go camping and other trips and spend a lot of time teaching these kids how to be leaders and examples of Jesus Christ. It's a lot of work, but very rewarding. I look in on a handful of families each month to make sure they have everything they need and know that we're thinking about them. I also help the overall leader of our congregation, the Bishop, keep all of his appointments and stay on top of his many commitments. I love this opportunity because it allows me to get to know and help so many different people with different backgrounds and challenges.

Are Mormons Christians?

Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Resurrected Lord. This fact is the foundation of my faith and my church. Jesus is my personal Savior and the only way that I can get back to my Heavenly Father. I want to spend my life trying to follow His perfect example and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps me to do this. Show more Show less
