Hi I'm Debbie Jensen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of four beautiful married daughters who all have great husbands. My husband, Dave, works for a large insurance firm in Phoenix, AZ. I am a professional at spending his money. I LOVE to quilt! I love to read and am passionate about politics. I am very concerned about the direction our country is going right now. I pray for our leaders both locally and nationally, that they will rely on the Lord and stay true to the values and principles stated in our constitution. I love this great nation and know that it was divinely inspired.

Why I am a Mormon

We became empty-nesters pretty quickly with all of our four girls getting married within a few years. It was a bigger adjustment than I ever dreamed. I had worked myself right out of my favorite job! Being a mother was and is a tremendous blessing. Being a grandmother is too! Even better the second time around! Suddenly having my "family" be just me and my husband was an adjustment. It took almost a year! But through the church, and my faith in Jesus Christ, I am now the happiest I've been in years. What changed? Me! by applying the principles of the gospel. I would be lost without it and my testimony of my Savior.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the church all my life has given me rich opportunities to serve with all ages. I have been in presidencies in all of the church organizations and have been on many planning committees. Currently, I serve in the girls camp presidency for about 400 youth and adult leaders. I am over programs which include youth classes, nightly programs, decorations, etc. It is a ton of work but so rewarding to see the testimonies of these girls blossom. I am also teaching five of the most darling 8 turning 9 year olds in Sunday School! They are so cute and know the gospel so well!! I love them and their spirits. (They are hilarious too. Parents... I know your secrets! Watch what you say!) Another great privilege I have is working at the Mesa temple. What a tremendous and glorious blessing that is! It is truly a haven from the world. A place where the spirit dwells in abundance and can fill us with peace and joy. I love it!
