Hi I'm Brad Betenson

I'm a husband. I'm a father. I'm a gamer. I'm a Client Services Manager. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time with my wife and two daughters. I received a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. I work full time as an Client Services Manager for an IT company. On the side, I own and operate my own technology services company. I play PC and PS3 games. I play Saturday morning two-hand-touch football with my friends and family during the cool seasons. I enjoy swimming, bbq'ing, and hanging out with friends and family. I serve in the church at whatever level I am invited. My family, friends, and my church are the most important things in my life. I work hard; I play hard.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon but always had a feeling the church was true. My parents raised me in the church but during high school is where I really had to find out for myself that it was true. Personal challenges and questioning from my friends brought me closer to Heavenly Father through prayer. I confirmed my feelings of His church being true by answers to my prayers. The more I serve Him the better I feel. These feelings of truth, love, peace, and righteousness is why I have chosen to be a member of His church. I continue to serve in whatever capacity I am needed in the church because of those same feelings. I learn to become a better father, husband, and friend in His church. I am able to share my talents, resources, and testimony of the gospel to help others and receive those same things from others. The gospel of Jesus Christ has changed my life immensely; I cannot imagine a better life without it.

How I live my faith

I serve with the Bishop as his Executive Secretary. I schedule all of his meetings with the members of his ward and coordinate building and other calendar events with other wards. This calling has really helped me to see how the church functions on a ward level. The Executive Secretary calling has also helped me improve my organizational skills. Prior to serving as the Executive Secretary I served as Gospel Doctrine teacher. I loved this calling. Each week I would get to teach the members of the ward lessons that pertained to Jesus Christ through scriptures like the Book of Mormon and Bible. Every week I was able to share my testimony and hear those of others. I feel I learned more from teaching than my "students" did. Before teaching as Gospel Doctrine teacher I was the Young Men's President. In that calling I was responsible for all of the young men from ages 12 to 17. I would coordinate efforts with the Bishop to help the boys become men, Eagle Scouts, and Missionaries. Like every other calling in the church I did NOT receive monetary payment. I volunteered my time, resources, and effort and in return have come to know my Savior, Jesus Christ. In return I have learned life lessons which I quite possibly could have not learned in any other setting. In return I have learned charity and sacrifice. I am excited to live my faith and share it. I know by serving others I will receive blessing in my life. These blessings include happiness from serving others, patience of learning new lessons, and peace of knowing I am striving to make right choices and better myself. I live my faith by striving to become perfect with the understanding that it may never happening in this life. I live my faith by striving to be a positive example to all those I come in contact with. I live my faith by serving my family, friends, and my community.
