Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a teacher and an artist. I'm a fighter and a work in progress. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in north central Indiana with my parents, grandparents, and two younger brothers. I grew up a tomboy and an athlete. I now live on my own with my dog. We are patiently waiting for our better half to make an appearance. I am a lover of music, art, traveling, writing, reading, soccer, football, good food, and becoming better. I am an English teacher and a tutor. I love the water and a good television show. I enjoy bike riding but am finding my treadmill to be my better friend for the time being. My relationships with my friends and family are the most important things to me in life. I truly believe that our relationships are the only things in life that really matter -- they are my greatest strength, asset, weakness, and love.

Why I am a Mormon

My father's family have been members for several generations. My mom's parents are converts. I was baptized when I was eight and was always the "good girl". After graduating from high school, life went nuts and doubts constant. I went through my own form of rebellion but have come out of it fighting. Staying true to who I know I am has not always been easy, but it has always remained my anchor and my ultimate strength. I love my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. Through the last few years, I have genuinely come to understand and appreciate the sacrifice that Christ made for me and that the pain He went through not only covers the mistakes I make but every pain and heartache I suffer in life. That has been one of the greatest strengths to me and the best comfort to a busted heart.

How I live my faith

I've served in many different callings in the church. I've worked with the youth, the missionaries, and the local women's organization. I do my visit teaching and am home taught by faithful young men. I volunteer in the community and work with a ton of youth in the school system. But none of that is as dear to me as just being the best daughter of God I can be on a daily basis and letting those attempts serve as an example to others.
