Hi I'm Carol

I live in Anacortes, WA. I am a daughter, a sister, a wife, and the mother of four children. I am a friend, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First, this is really difficult for me to do. I don't particularly like putting my information out for all to see. Facebook freaks me out, and I don't want to be Linked In. But I do want to follow my church leaders and the things they ask me to do because I have an unwavering testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and His restored Church. I have four children and was fortunate enough to be able to stay home with them through their young years. My last just started kindergarten. I am an accountant and now work in the finance department for a local municipality. I like to play games and be active with my family, read, exercise, and travel. I also continually seek after the elusive goal of being organized. I like food storage and cooking things that my family usually doesn't like. I like to teach and be silly with kids. I volunteer in my community and like to be involved in what my kids participate in. I like to take pictures and plan theme-oriented birthday parties.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because my parents gratefully were and raised me in a way that allowed me to learn about the gospel myself and become converted. I was blessed to be given a sure testimony and have never seriously doubted the truthfulness of what I know. My actions have not always been in line with what I know, but my knowledge has always been sure. When I place myself in situations that allow the Spirit to teach and testify to me, my testimony grows and expands. I accept truth wherever it is found and am grateful that I have the gift of the Holy Ghost to teach me. I have been through many difficult and heart-wrenching trials. During these times, the Spirit has been so easily accessible to me and so powerful and familiar that I can never doubt the reality of a loving Heavenly Father. When life becomes routine and temptations arise to question my values, I rely on the memories of how I felt during the times the Holy Spirit was not just my constant companion, but also when Jesus Christ was literally my Savior in getting me through trials.

How I live my faith

Currently I teach the 12-13 youth Sunday School. This year we are studying the Prophets of the Latter-day Church. I love it! I love the age and I love the course material. I learn so much and I feel that these years for the kids are so crucial. They are deciding right now whether they will continue in what they have been taught in the home and at church or whether they will follow the worlds' teachings. I have also taught the younger children (18 months to 11 years) for several years. I love teaching the children. I like to be goofy and still bring the power of the spirit in the room. Teaching by the Spirit makes all the difference in the lessons. I also currently visit three different women in the church and have the stewardship to watch over them and make sure they are not in need as I share a monthly spiritual message.
