Hi I'm Brittany

I'm a young working professional who strives to live life to the fullest with with no regrets. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young married working professional trying to find a good balance between my work, my husband, and my relationship with the Lord. I met my husband, a native Californian, in college, and after getting married we lived in southern California for four years before moving to Texas last year for my husband's MBA program. My husband and I have been married five years, and while our marriage isn't perfect, we try and put God at the center of our marriage to give us the strength to overcome difficult challenges. With my husband's demanding school schedule, I've learned to keep myself entertained in the "live music capital" by running, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, and of course eating delicious cuisine. I've completed a half marathon and am looking forward to embarking on a full marathon soon. I enjoy traveling. In the last handful of years my husband and I have been to Fiji, Cancun, Vancouver, Montreal, and have traveled all throughout western Europe. Last year, while in between homes and jobs, we took a three month trip around the entire United States. While I cherish my upbringing in the United States, I am amazed at the rich history, culture, diversity and beauty this world has to offer.

Why I am a Mormon

I find comfort knowing where I came from, why I’m here on earth, and where I’m going after death. Heavenly Father sent his son Jesus Christ to earth to teach and atone for each of our mistakes. It is through my Savior Jesus Christ that I can return to my Heavenly Father because I am able to repent for my wrong doings. I am Mormon because it is not a Sunday only faith, but because it is a lifelong commitment of service, kindness, forgiveness, and faith. I appreciate that in the Mormon faith no one is too far beyond reach to feel the love and mercy of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by practicing Jesus Christ's teachings. I try to be kind, not gossip, and offer service. I attend church regularly and volunteer with the young women in my congregation. We have fun serving the elderly and needy. Our church has a strong sense of community. Each month, someone calls or visits you to check in, see how you are doing, and offer assistance if needed. When I moved to California, I didn't have any friends. This community was a tender mercy from God that I could fall back on. I now visit a young single mother in my congregation who doesn't have family close by. I hope I offer her the relief and friendship that was offered to me.
