Hi I'm James W. Sanders

I'm a Soldier, war veteran, a Scout, Dutch Oven cook, amateur wrench turner and yes I'm a Mormon too.

About Me

My wife drives a minivan, which she likes, I drive an old supercharged MR2, which she like sometimes, and sometime she doesn’t. My wife runs and drives faster than me. . . . OK fine she just runs faster than me. I do most of the need repairs on our vehicle because most of the cars I’ve owned have been less than new and it saves us money. We now have 5 children, so making the most of our resources is important. I’ve been in the Army for 15 years now. I deployed to Iraq in 2005. As a member of the armed services, my family has moved a lot, Washington, Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, Montana, California, Utah, Arizona, Virginia, Wisconsin and Indiana. My wife is the Queen of the Castle and she deals with the family budget, the bills and all the logistics of the house and kids. She ran Cross-country in College and even after five children she has run two half marathons and one Ragnar in the last two years. No slowing down with her around. :) I grew up in Scouting and all four of my sons are all involved in scouting as well. I love out door cooking. The grill is great but to me the Dutch over is as good as it gets in outdoor cooking. Most of the time when I cook it’s for the Scouts, usually about 15 to 25 people, but I’ve cooked for groups as large as 100 people. I have 4 collector series ovens, one Rocky Mtn Elk, 2002 Winter Olympics, Utah Centennial, and one Boy Scouts of America.

Why I am a Mormon

Its a choice that comes from knowing and understanding the gospel of Jesus Christ. The same who was born of Marry in Jerusalem and died on the cross for all. There is but one. Some have popularized the term 'other Jesus'. There is no 'OTHER JESUS' only he who is testified of in the New Testiment and profesied

How I live my faith

James 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. The most important part of living my faith is going to church. By so doing I show God that he is more important than anything else. It is a sacrifice of time, but I think of sacrifice as putting something (my time) aside for something more valuable. Service is a timeless principle. Service is also a part of Scouting. Learning that we are a part of a civic structure gives meaning to working with others and not just watching out for number one. I love my wife and most of the time she loves me too. Honoring my wife and family is the most important way I live my faith.
