Hi I'm Jo Fisher

I'm a Mormon. Finding out about the Articles of Faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) converted me.

About Me

I am an avid reader and interested in finding out the truth about things by doing research and not just believing in heresay. I have worked as a family counselor, human resources manager and as a Georgia Supreme Court translator. I have taught English as a second language to adults and children. I have translated textbooks, children's story books, travel brochures and songs. I enjoy doing anything that is creative, painting, sewing, crocheting, cooking, baking, gardening and helping people. I am a very happy, optimistic person and always ready to do whatever needs to be done. I thoroughly enjoy the outdoors and invite me to go on a hike or walk 5 miles and I'll be ready in no time! I have visited several countries in Europe, South America and also, Australia, New Zealand and Canada. There's nothing better than getting to know people from other countries and learn about their culture, architecture, food, language, art , country and religion for it broadens our horizon and teaches us to appreciate the differences and similarities that we have. I have 4 children.. 2 boys and 2 girls, and 5 gand-children and 2 g-grandchildren. However, I have 3 brothers and 4 sisters .. all college graduates and very united.

Why I am a Mormon

Jesus Christ has always been the center of my life and I searched for Him in all the different religions and churches I investigated. I finally found Him in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This was a church that answered all my prayers and questions with their Articles of Faith and their teaching that we must not hate anyone but instead love, forgive and serve like Jesus Christ. I further read everything I could get hold of and beseeched my Heavenly Father to guide me to open my heart and mind to the truth. I joined the Church and the Articles of Faith and all the teachings of th gospel of Jesus Christ have kept me close to God and filled my life with immense happiness. I see God's hand in the countless miracles that He performs. We take so many things for granted and don't acknowledge how He takes care of us and loves us. Joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was the best decision I have made in y life for it has drawn me closer to my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am taught to be "honest, true, chaste, bebevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; to follow the admonition of the Apostol Paul .. to believe all things, hope all things, endure many things and hope to endure all things and to seek after anythig virtuous, lovely, of good report or praiseworthy."

How I live my faith

Service is very important to the members of the Church of Jesus Christ od LDS and that is why we participate not only in activities that help members of our Church but also people in the community and around the world when there have been natural disasters. I have always been ready to serve in any capacity. I have taught youth and adults in different callings in the church and have volunteered to teach children in our public schools... and nursing homes. I have helped organize events in Cub Scouting and charity.
