Hi I'm Sharon

I'm a Mormon, quilter, nurse and seamstress.

About Me

I am a nurse and have done many different jobs in that field such as elderly care in and out of institutions, allergy offices, family practice and hospice. Other jobs I have done include typewriter assembly, convenience store manager, sew and vac employee and Mom. My passion is quilting now. I love to make quilts to bring comfort and love to others.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this gospel because it is based on family. It also does not change the 'rules' every time there is a change in the social atmosphere. It took me over 40 years to find my 'gospel home' and here I shall stay.

How I live my faith

Over the years of my membership in the church I have accepted requests to help in our women's group as a board member, secretary, teacher and also have assisted with the scheduling of one of our buildings for activities and also help with maintaining the baptism outfits. All of these activities have increased my faith and understanding of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which I am very grateful for.

What are some of the ways that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints helps those around the world?

Sharon
I am able to join with other members of the Ward and help others with essential needs. Some of the service I have helped others to accomplish are cleaning up a neighborhood-painting houses, spreading stone in yards, cleaning out trash and general clean-up and other times we have gathered to help students to have the items they need to start school, also gather items called 'humanitarian supplies'. These supplies are sent to a central location for distribution when disasters happen around the world. I have spent many hours with other members sewing, tying and binding quilts for distribution to the local fire departments and hospitals as well as for our disaster relief centers. It is amazing to me that just a few hours a month make it possible for me to join in helping those in need all over the world. Show more Show less
