Hi I'm Kareena Horton

I like to ski, run, walk, and make desserts! I am married, work part time, and have 3 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mom. Even though I work outside of home, my first and favorite job is being a mom! I don't have much time for hobbies, but when I do have extra time I enjoy reading a good book, painting ceramics, walking, and making cookies! I'm always up for lunch with my friends, and I enjoy getting a pedicure.......with a friend of course!

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ gives me direction and purpose for why I am here on earth. I grew up in the church and chose to be baptized when I was 8 years old. I probably did not realize the impact at 8 years old that being baptized would have on my life. As an adult, I look back and can see how being baptized has shaped my life. Because of the commitments and covenants I made at baptism, my life has been full of purpose and direction. I know who I am; a daughter of God. I know where I came from and I know why I am here. I know where I am going. I live the gospel of Jesus Christ so I can one day live with my Heavenly Father and be with my family forever. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. It isn't always easy. It starts with the small stuff; reading the scriptures every day, praying morning and night, and going to church every week. Family Home Evenings on Monday is a big one too! That is hard to fit in the schedule, but so worth it! I live my faith by trying to be kind to others and treating others as Christ would treat them. One of my favorite children's hymns is "I'm trying to Be Like Jesus." Here are the words: 1. I’m trying to be like Jesus; I’m following in his ways. I’m trying to love as he did, in all that I do and say. At times I am tempted to make a wrong choice, But I try to listen as the still small voice whispers, 2. I’m trying to love my neighbor; I’m learning to serve my friends. I watch for the day of gladness when Jesus will come again. I try to remember the lessons he taught. Then the Holy Spirit enters into my thoughts, saying: Chorus “Love one another as Jesus loves you. Try to show kindness in all that you do. Be gentle and loving in deed and in thought, For these are the things Jesus taught.” Words and music: Janice Kapp Perry, b. 1938 © 1980 by Janice Kapp Perry.
