Hi I'm Chelsey

I was born in Canada, but grew up in Arizona. I am serving a mission in Copenhagen, Denmark. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Where to begin... I am in University majoring in Marketing. I really didn't know what to major in, but I figured business is always a safe bet right? Now just have to figure out what I actually want to do with my life... yay :) I work while I go to school which is always a good time. Right now I am taking a break from school and work as I serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Copenhagen, Denmark and may I just say, ''Danishes'' we have in the states are NOT danishes haha. I love active exciting things, like sports! My absolute most favorite sports are basketball, soccer, and hockey (not in any specific order). I don't play any of those sports myself (I'm way too much of a wimp for hockey haha) but I do love to wake board and other outdoor activities like that.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because when you know something to be completely true you can't deny it or else you will only be lying to yourself. I was born into the church, so many would argue that I just followed the tradition of my parents, but that is completely false. Growing up I had siblings who decided the church wasn't for them, and as a result at a young age I started to study out the truth of it for myself, I had to decide if my parents were right or my siblings were. I studied out the Book of Mormon and I took Moroni's challenge and prayed to know if it was true. The answer didn't come immediately, it took time, but my testimony cannot be denied. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and that God commission Joseph Smith to find and translate the book for our benefit. I know that if you study out the Book of Mormon it will guide you in your life. I know that God and Jesus Christ live and know and love every single one of us. I know that God listens to and hears our prayers and he ALWAYS answers them, they may not be answered how we want them to be, but God is looking out for our best interests, and what matters to us is vitally important to him. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God and he and all the other apostles were chosen to guide and protect us in this dispensation and help us to know what God would have us do. I know that all the commandments, including the Word of Wisdom, are with a wise purpose and for our benefit. To me my testimony means that I can be protected and live a life full of joy. My testimony means I will never truly be lost in life, Jesus Christ will always be there with me directing my paths. Without the truth of the gospel I don't know where my life may have ended up.

How I live my faith

Right now I am living my faith by quite literally giving up my worldly life. I made the decision to serve a mission in Denmark, and it was a very difficult decision for me. I am taking a break from school, work, etc. for a year and a half to be able to spread my faith. As I said, it was a difficult decision and not one I ever thought I would make, but how could I not want to share a faith that has brought me so much happiness and peace? The Lord has helped me through so much and sacrificed his own life so that I can return to live with my Father in Heaven again, the least I can do is give up a short year and a half in order to help bring more of his Children unto Christ so they can be reunited with their Heavenly Father as well. It is hard being away from my family, but thanks to my faith I know I can be with them for eternity!

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

As members of the church we serve missions for many reasons. Personally myself I am serving a mission because I love my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I want to share the message and truth that I know about Jesus Christ, I want anyone and everyone to be able to feel the joy that I feel every day by living this gospel. I feel like I would be selfish if I kept it to myself :) Show more Show less
