Hi I'm Kevin

I grew up in Southern California. I work as a Software Engineer in Colorado. I write apps for Windows Phone 7. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a software developer and I love to write code. When I am not at work writing code I write Windows Phone apps. I have 2 apps already published and am working on a third. Besides loving to write code, I love being with my family. I am a husband and father of one baby girl and hoping to have more kids soon. As a family we enjoy camping and other outdoor activities. We also enjoy playing board games together. We get together often with others to play board games. We also enjoy watching movies, anime and other shows together on Netflix.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This does not mean however that I have followed blindly what my parents believed. The youth of the Church are constantly encourage and invited to become converted themselves and not to rely on the faith of their parents. As a young man I took this invitation and did what anybody wanting to learn more about the Church would do, I read the Book of Mormon and studied the doctrines of the Church. Then, believing that God answers prayers, prayed to God to know if the things that I had read and studied where as much His word as the words in the Bible. I received a very reassuring peace come over me and I knew that both books, the Bible and Book of Mormon, were both the word of God. I also know that those who read the Book of Mormon with an open mind and heart can receive this same answer too.

How I live my faith

There are many ways in which I live my faith. As a family we strive to read the word of God each day and pray together as a family each night and morning. This helps me to keep my faith strong and avoid the temptations that inevitably come each day. Another important way that I live my faith is by serving the youth in our congregation. I help keep the youth organization running smoothly and strive to be a good example to the youth. I have had several other responsibilities over my years as a member of the Church, each of which has been a great opportunity for me to learn and grow in my faith. What a wonderful opportunity it is to serve others. As Christ taught, you must lose yourself to find yourself.
