Hi I'm Helen

I live in Sunderland with my husband and kids. I'm a Speech and Language Therapist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Mansfield and moved to Sheffield when I was young. I moved to Newcastle Upon Tyne for university and then settled in Sunderland when I got married. I'm the middle of 5 children and now have 5 great kids of my own. I work once a week as a Speech and Language Therapist and the rest of the week I'm busy with school runs, homework and playing with the kids! I try to stay healthy by running and playing netball and enjoy doing this with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and enjoyed the family aspects of the Gospel. As I got older and needed to make decisions for myself I studied and prayed to get my own testimony. This gradually happened over time and when I asked my Heavenly Father if it was true i felt the confirmation that what I already knew was true. I've always enjoyed being a member of the church and the peace it has given me. The Gospel gives me direction in my life and helps me to be a wife and a mother.

How I live my faith

I've volunteered in church throughout the years in various ways and I've always enjoyed working with other people at church and within the community. I'm currently working with the children in our ward and I teach those who are aged between 8 and 11, which I enjoy. My husband is currently serving as Bishop of our ward and so I help and support him as well. As part of our womens group I visit sisters homes with my friend. We see how each other are doing and try and help each other as well as share uplifting messages with one another.
