Hi I'm Al Dowell

I'm a Mormon. I do something each day to bring a moment of joy to my wife. I love working with the elderly generation.

About Me

I am a new Mormon, baptized and confirmed-Aug 2011 I retired after 20 years of adventure and hard work in the military. (Army-3yrs.,Combat Engineer & Air Force-17 yrs., Jet Engine Mechanic) My wife and I enjoy 6 daughters from previous marriages & 13 grandchildren. All of whom love and ride 4 horses we board on our 12 acre hobby farm. They all also enjoy a large tree house & a small fishing pond. Education: I completed an associates degree in Industrial-Commercial-Residential Maintenance & Repair in May 2008. I am presently, a part-time small business owner-Al's Handyman Services working mainly for the elderly on fixed incomes. I also work full-time for the Morton House assisted living facility as a Medication Aide/Personal Care Assistant.

Why I am a Mormon

I watched the living example of a Mormon neighbor for 3 yrs. A man who seemed to symbolize all of what I as a man had inspired to be, such as strong minded, kind , patient , and a good listener with a peaceful & contented manner about himself. His faith and church had molded him as I now submit myself to this same molding. The guilt, worry, and confusion in my life has diminished due to my new commitments, covenants, and relationship with Jesus Christ my Savior and Redeemer. As a new member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I feel cherished, loved and overjoyed to be so well blessed.

How I live my faith

By faithfully attending church services and taking every opportunity to show my love and caring, by words and deeds to the brothers and sisters within my faith and to those in need throughout my community.  I constantly try to develop a stonger prayer life, create a peaceful and sacred atmosphere in our home and participate in service projects to others in need. I am eager to begin to work within my new calling position as a Building Maintenance Coordinator. I try to remind myself on good days and bad to just be a good example.
