Hi I'm Spencer

I love my wife, fly fishing, and Denver sports. I'm currently a law student at University of Georgia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Colorado where i learned to love the outdoors. I enjoy backpacking, hiking, and, most of all, fishing. Lately I've been trying to tie my own flies. I also became a dedicated fan of the Denver Broncos, Denver Nuggets, and the Colorado Rockies while growing up and make sure to sport my team spirit in whatever state I'm in. Unfortunately my own beloved sports career has been over for a long time. I loved playing basketball and football on the school teams, but by the time I graduated I had torn the ACL in both knees. By the age of 20, I had torn my ACL a total of 4 times. I have been married to my beautiful wife for over 2 years now. We don't have any kids yet but we we still have plenty of time. We just returned from a three month trip to Cambodia where I taught Englosh and she worked on agricultural development projects. We hope to be able to go back. As for now, I am attending law school. I hope to jsed my education in an international environment.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents raised me in the church. At first their fajth was enough to support me. My father is a convert to the church and I always liked hearing his conversion story. Growing up, I didnt have many friends that were mormon but they always respected me and my faith and never pressured me to do things contrary to my faith. Having good parents and good friends helped me understand the love that my Father in heaven and Jesus Christ have for me. There weren't many times that I had an overwhelming feeling that the church was true, instead I have realized that I am so much happier when I am living the commandments of God. When i have a personal relationship with my Savior thruough prayer and scripture study life seems to be much easier. The most comforting thing to know is that I will have a chance to live with my Heavenly Father, his Son Jesus Christ, and all of my loved ones, especially my wife if I try my best to do what God would have me do.

How I live my faith

I know Jesus loves everybody, and so I try to show everybody that I care about them. It all starts with my wife and my family. Serving them, helping them, and also teaching them and learning from them. I also try to go to church and participate in church activities, read my scriptures, pray, go to the temple, and anything else that helps me come closer to my Savior. When I'm at school or work, I just try to make sure that people know what my values are. Hopefully when others see me, they see a follower of Christ.
