Hi I'm Allen Foster

I was raised in the small town of Chino Valley, AZ. I am a high school wrestling and soccer coach. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a tight knit country town with small town values. As a teen, I vowed to get out of town and live a life of adventure in the big city. After graduation, I immediately left town to embark on my life of adventure and excitement. I returned home six months later to the small town I still call home. My 2 favorite things in life are family and athletics (hot wings and pizza were close to making the list). I wrestled from 8 years old through college, and I continue to stay involved as a high school wrestling coach. I also coach our high school boys soccer team. While in college, I met an amazing young woman who I was able to convince to marry me. I think she has finally figured out that I got the better end of that arrangement. We have 3 wonderful children who make us laugh everyday. My children recieved my athletic gene and compete in many different sports. They also recieved my wife's cultured gene and play musical instruments. This requires alot of scheduling and driving, to ensure that thay get to all of their practices. We are an extremely busy family, but I love every minute of it. My children will soon be talking about moving out of this small town (which doesn't seem so small anymore), and will be raising children of their own before I know it.

Why I am a Mormon

When people ask me why I am a Mormon, they always ask, "Is it because you were born a Mormon?". I think that others percieve that those of us that are born into the church are just following tradition. I sometimes wish that I was a convert so that I could have a great conversion story, so that people wouldn't discard my testimony because I was born into the church. On the flip side, my friends that are converts wished they were raised with primary and family home evening. My answer to the question of why I am a Mormon (and it always eventually comes up) is because my life has been greatly blessed because I have lived by the teachings of the LDS church. Through prayer, I have recieved a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have been blessed by paying my tithing, and I have seen the power of priesthood blessings. I am a Mormon because it is a great way to live life. I recieve joy from obeying the commandments, and even though I fall short at times, I am able to keep progressing towards an eternal life with my family.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day and I hope that others can know my faith by my actions. I teach lessons with a spiritual message in church at least once a month. I enjoy preparing those lessons because I learn so much through the preparation. I participate with a group of men, who try and give service to those in need. We help people move, we mow lawns, we do house repairs, etc. Alot of Mormons are known for sharing their beliefs with others, but I am fairly reserved when it comes to sharing my personal beliefs. I hope that people can see my commitment to my beliefs by my everyday actions.
