Hi I'm Adrienne

I grew up on a farm in Arizona. I still love to walk in the cotton fields. I taught 6th grade. I am a grandma. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother and a grandmother. I am a twin, and I had twins, and now 2 of my kids have twins! I love to be with my family. I love to do anything outdoors: sports, walking, planting, weeding, hiking, biking, skiing, reading, and swimming. I have taught 6th grade and elementary music. I just found out my husband has malignant melanoma.

Why I am a Mormon

After my first baby was born, I carried my second baby 9 months, went into labor on her due date, went to the hospital, and delivered a full term still born baby girl. We left the hospital that day holding a paper bag instead of a baby. After a year of mourning, we once again got pregnant and carried another baby girl 9 months. During that last week of pregnancy, she died, and once again, I delivered a full term still born. And, once again, we were stuck with funeral and burial costs along with the medical costs. We were devastated and wondered how God could let that happen twice in a row. After months of feeling alone in my sorrow, I was reading in the Book of Mormon (Alma 7: 11-12) and it hit me like a bolt of lightning, that I was not alone; that Jesus Christ, my Savior, has gone through every sorrow, every illness, every loss and has shouldered that for ME, so that I would know that I AM NOT ALONE. I love Him for this, and it has brought peace to my soul. At a low time in my life when I thought we wouldn't have any more children, I felt peace and hope. A couple of years later we got pregnant and we were blessed with twins! I knew that God was blessing us and rewarding us for the pain and loss we had to suffer. I love this gospel for the peace and happiness it brings to me during the happy times, but especially during the hard times!

How I live my faith

I love to work with the youth. I help plan activities where youth have the opportunity to interact with others their age. I love to see them experience the joy of serving others, learn a new skill, and interacting with each other at dances or other events. I also get to teach them a spiritual lesson, on Sundays, where I get to express my feelings towards Jesus Christ, our Savior. It brings me joy to hear them share experiences of prayers being answered, making a courageous choice amidst peer pressure, or tearfully expressing knowledge that Heavenly Father loves them. That is what it is all about!
