Hi I'm Annette

I'm the mother of 2 sweet and active boys. I'm the proud wife of a firefighter. I'm a marathon runner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town. I am an only-child. I went to college in Arizona to study economics. I met my husband there, and then we moved back to a small town. We have 2 very active young boys that make life fulfilling. They attend a Catholic private school, take violin and piano lessons, and participate in Tae Kwon Do and swimming. I am a real estate agent. I am the proud wife of a firefighter that still makes my heart pitter-patter. For fun, in the wee hours of the morning, my friends and I run. I've run 2 marathons and 3 half-marathons. I love to play the piano in my spare time because music is my happy place. I love to spend time with my family traveling, watching movies, playing games, and visiting museums.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon, but I didn't truly appreciate that until I was married, had a career, and thought about children. I chose to be an active member of the LDS Church as a young wife of an inactive Lutheran. I listened to a television broadcast of a talk given by Gordon B. Hinckley. I felt the desire to read the Book of Mormon from beginning to end, which, while growing up, I had not ever done before, and when I was finished, I prayed about it. It was then that I knew in my head and in my heart, that this Gospel was true. The power of Jesus Christ and his love has brought unspeakable joy to my life. And just like the Holy Ghost showed me that this Church is true, it also showed my husband the truth of the Gospel. My husband converted to the LDS Church 10 years ago, and because all men have the opportunity to hold the priesthood, my husband baptized his mother into the Church a few years later. Knowing that I am a child of God, and that this is His Church, I have peace in my life whether I am faced with obstacles or I am enjoying the happy moments.

How I live my faith

I am a ward chorister, so I lead the music for our church. I substitute as a piano player when needed. I also am a secretary for the children's organization for our church. I attend church each Sunday, and once a month I fast by not eating or drinking anything for a day, to become closer to my Heavenly Father and to think about those who may be hungry or going without some necessities of life. I donate my time and my money to help those that are less fortunate than I am. I pray and read scriptures daily and teach my children to do the same, so that they, too, may choose consciously to be members of His Church and contribute to the world their knowledge, talents, and teach of our Savior's love to others.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Annette
Throughout history, God has appointed prophets to guide us, His children. Today it is no different. In our current day, with the turmoil in the world and the influence of media all around us, we need a true prophet to guide us for our time. Thomas S. Monson is God's chosen prophet today. My Father in Heaven is loving and kind and wants to help us along our way, and a living prophet is heavenly guidance to lead us back to God. Show more Show less
