Hi I'm Ben Johnson

I grew up in Idaho Falls, Idaho. I love alpine skiing and playing basketball. I served in Iraq as an army pilot. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a husband and father of 3, I am a family man. I believe that taking care of my family is the most important purpose I have in this life. I love spending time outdoors with my wife and children. We love to ski, camp, fish, hike, and do just about anything that gets us into the fresh air. I recently left the army after 7 years of service as an apache pilot. I served tours in Iraq and Kosovo, and was priviliedged to spend 4 years being stationed in Bavaria, Germany. I am returning to school next year to train as a physician's assistant.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My parents took an active role in my physical and spiritual development. With their help, I gained a testimony and appreciation for my Savior, Jesus Christ. Later on, as I left home to go to college, I received my own testimony of Jesus Christ, and of the divinity of this church. Through continual study of the Book of Mormon, and through sincere prayer, I learned that Jesus is the Christ, that Joseph Smith is His prophet, that the Book of Mormon is His Word, and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His kingdom here upon the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through loving those around me. Christ taught that the two greatest commandments are to "love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, might, mind and strength" and to "love thy neighbor as thyself." I show that love through different kinds of service to others. I serve my family through taking care of them and leading them. I serve my brothers and sisters in the church through fulfilling callings given to me by my bishop. I serve my other brothers and sisters through being an example to them and in sharing my beliefs about the gospel with them. There is no better way to show Christ that you love Him, than through selfless service to His sheep.
