Hi I'm Sarah

I was born and raised in the beautiful Salt Lake Valley. I am an author of several fantasy novels and am a Latter-Day Saint.

About Me

I was born and raised in the LDS faith and have a love for clouds, mountains, and writing. I have written several fantasy novels and currently have them self-published. I enjoy drawing with pencils and using a tablet for digital art on the computer. I also like archery, hiking, and have an attraction to horses, cats, unicorns, and dragons. Right now I'm attending college and Institute. I seek to graduate with my Associate's of Arts Degree in English next year and may aim for a Writing Certificate next. I will continue writing and I hope to eventually get more word out about my stories.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born into the LDS faith, meaning that my family is LDS and I went to Primary Sunday School and was baptized at 8 to become a member, understanding why I choose to remain in the Church has been a gradual process. It has meant growing my testimony through attending church, learning about the Scriptures, and praying to know things for myself through the Holy Spirit I received after baptism. I can't say when my actual conversion took place, save that it has happened. I follow the Gospel not just because I was raised and taught to, but because I want to. After all these years I can firmly say that Jesus Christ lives and is my Redeemer and hero. Because of His Atonement, His sacrifice to pay for our sins, I can repent and feel God's love for me. Our Heavenly Father is a personal God and welcomes all those who seek after Him. I know the Gospel is true and that we are led by a true prophet in these latter days before the Second Coming of the Savior. I know all of us can return to Him someday if we so choose. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith at home as well as at church. I read scriptures, pray to my Heavenly Father, and strive to be a better person with the passing days. Doing little things like keeping my language and actions clean and thinking more about others helps me improve. I have served in various callings growing up. Right now I am Activities Committee Chairperson, and though relatively new to the calling, I hope to help organize activities that will help bring our ward together.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we do not worship Joseph Smith. Like us, Joseph Smith was a mortal, and he was just a man. He was chosen of God to help restore the fullness of the Gospel to the earth and was a powerful instrument in the Lord's hands. We worship God the Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, just as Joseph Smith wrote himself in the Articles of Faith. We remember and respect Joseph for his sacrifices for the Church and can come to know that he was a true prophet of God through the Holy Spirit. Show more Show less
