Hi I'm Carol

I grew up in Mesa, AZ, when it was a small town. I liked it better then! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a very large (9 children) Mormon family. I learned to cook and sew and garden from very young. I was the baby for 8 years, before the last child was born. I was spoiled just a bit in those early years, but was soon put back in line in such a large group of family members! I have continued to cook, sew and garden. I am growing a "square foot garden" now. It is 4 x 8 feet, and is growing nicely. I had to build a sun shade for it, because our grueling summer heat (in September) was killing some of it. I primarily sew quilts these days, since there is always a family member of needy group that needs or wants a quilt. It makes me feel productive. I am a mother of 6 children, and a grandmother of 16! We enjoy spending time with all the family members and try to celebrate holidays and birthdays with as many as we can gather together. With 3 of our children living out of state, we have 3 local families to mostly celebrate with. In the Church, I am overseeing compassionate service needs for Ward members, Humanitarian Service Projects that come along, I do family search indexing, and I "Visit Teach" 2 ladies each month, to make sure they are not in need of a service and being neglected. I try to do these "callings" properly and well. I feel like the service I do for family as well as for others outside my family, are the most important things I can do to fill my time.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and have always attended. Of course, I have never been near perfect, and since I realize that, that is the main reason I continue to go! We have regular reminders of what we should be doing and striving for through weekly talks and lessons. Those messages are motivating, and remind me of my God-given responsibilities to improve myself, and to share the knowledge and testimony of Jesus Christ with others, as the opportunity arises. I know that our Heavenly Father, His Son, Jesus Christ, and numberless angels watch over our lives, and encourage us to do right, so that we may be found worthy to return to live in Heaven with our Father and loved ones there. Death doesn't seem like a terrible thing, since I know a bit about what conditions will be like in our next and eternal lives. If we believe in a life after this one, we have all the more reason to act appropriately here, to earn a good reward for the eternities! We will be put with people like ourselves, so that is a good reason to try to be a good person!

How I live my faith

As I mentioned previously about my various assignments in my particular Ward and Stake, I try pretty hard to be diligent in doing all that I am asked to do by my leaders. I know that all the people in leadership positions over me, were called by inspiration from Jesus Christ to be in those positions, so I want to follow their counsel.
