Hi I'm Victoria

I was born in Colorado but grew up in So. CA. I have a Ph.D. in Sociology. I am now retired and live in AZ and... I am a Mormon.

About Me

I took the missionary lessons when I was in my 40's, five years after two of my three children joined the Church. The missiosnaries challenged me to pray and ask the Lord if their message and the Book of Mormon were true. After dragging my feet about it for a couple of weeks I finally took the challenge and prayed and was shown by the Spirit that it is true! I was baptized. It is the best decision and the most blessed moment of my life. Thankfully, my oldest daughter was also baptized a few years later. After I retired I served a mission in Munich Germany, another great blessing of my life. My favorite things now are living near my children, attending the temple weekly, having many many wonderfull friends who share the same beliefs, hiking, reading mysteries and relaxing with my feet up.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is true! My life has been so enhanced by my membership in the Church. The correctness of what is taught is confirmed to me over and over again through so many experiences. It has helped me through some really tough times. Whatever the problems I face I know that Jesus Christ, through the influence and guidance of the Holy Spirit, will help me through it.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through daily prayer and scripture study, weekly Church and temple attendance, and bi-annually listening to all the general conference talks. The older I get the more I find myself relying on the Lord to help me with challenges big and small. Some of the big ones have been raising three children by myself, going back to graduate school in my late 40's (and making it through), and having a daughter and four of my grandchildren pass on before me. Some small ones are praying each day for the energy and drive I need to get some difficult yardwork or housework done, finding something I've misplaced and can't for the life of me remember where it could be, and resisting the urge to try to advise family members or friends about things that are not my business. When I pray about anything, big or small I know I will always get the help I need.
