Hi I'm Sariah

I grew up on a farm. Being a member of this church helps me keep my rows straight.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Nevada and have farmed my whole life. I'm so grateful to my parents for teaching me how to work hard and love the Lord. There are 10 kids in my family and my 2 older brothers just got back from their missions to Brazil and the Philippeans. I'm so proud of them, they are amazing examples to me. I am a Senior at Brigham Young University-Idaho studying Agribusiness Management with a minor in Culinary Arts. For fun, I enjoy hiking, running, cooking, going to the gym or spending time with my friends and family. I also like to sing and play the violin and piano. I am so grateful to the Lord. He has guided me in my life and I feel that every good thing that I have is because of his love and mercy.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe in Christ. I know with everything in me that the Book of Mormon is real. I know that God would not leave his people without a prophet in a time like this. The Holy Ghost has affirmed to me over and again that God loves me, that Jesus died for my inadequacies, and I can again be perfect one day through Christ. I am amazed that our Heavenly Father would do all that he has done. But it is just a testimony of his love. I try to be just like that. I hope that people will say of me that I am a Christlike person. I believe that Joseph Smith is a true prophet and that he translated the Book of Mormon correctly. I am so thankful for the Priesthood, it has definitely blessed my life beyond anything I could describe. I'm a Mormon because living what I believe has changed my life

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to serve others. I try as hard as I can to be a peacemaker and do what is right. I served as an Organist, Chorister, and Camp Director back in Nevada. Here in Rexburg, I go to the temple as often as I can to do work by proxy. I love the people of this church; I love all people. I try to help people wherever and whenever I can. I hope to someday serve a mission. I am continually trying to make myself better so that I can be a good example to those around me and represent Jesus Christ.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

My testimony is my belief in Jesus Christ and the restored church. If you think about a testimony in the Federal Court systems, it is a statement in which you promise to tell the truth. Our testimonies as Mormons are what we believe to be truth. A testimony is a powerful thing and only grows stronger as we share it with others. Show more Show less
