Hi I'm Scott James

I love to create things that inspire people, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to think that I am unique, at least just as much as the next person. I am a college student, studying Advertising and Communications. I live life on deadlines, trying to fill my life with as many good things as I can. For me, its better to have a little too much to do than too little. I live for the college football season, and love me my Star Wars movies. I served the people of Portugal for two years on a mission and it changed my life forever, it's my second home. You know, my life isn't easy, but the Lord has definitely taken care of me and for that I am forever grateful.

Why I am a Mormon

I am the oldest of 5 children, 4 boys and 1 girl and we grew up in a home built upon the foundation of the gospel. My family has deep ties to the church that run on both sides, my great great grandmother was part of the Willie hand cart company that came across he plains to Utah. But even with those deep roots, there came a time where I was living the gospel because of duty, or because of tradition. While it was ok that I leaned on the testimony of others in the beginning, the time came (like it does for all of us) to find a testimony of Christ, of my own. Through trial and error, and some pretty earnest prayer, I slowly gained my faith. For me it came through the prophet Joseph Smith at the first, and through that, all other things became strong. I always believed in God and in Jesus Christ, or at least had that Hope. But the sincere, true faith didn't come until I had the desire to know. I am not an over night case, and I cant pin down my conversion to any single event or day. Just as when the sun rises in the morning, the sky is gradually filled with light- so it is with my testimony of the Gospel, it comes gradually and hardly noticeable. My life is filled with the light of Christ and while there are still those dark times and treacherous trials, I know what the final score of the game of life will be, and i know that the team that I'm on, will come out on top. And that, is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I think everyone has something to share, something unique to them that can add some color to this world, we all have the power within us to do good. Sometimes it's just the little things, like a text message to a friend saying that we were thinking about them, or a sincere compliment to someone, but it's with those small acts that we can find happiness and satisfaction. I think that the gospel is on the earth today to help us become more Jesus Christ. He was perfect, and one day if we do our best and do what he asks of us, then we can be perfect too. I guess that I just try to be better today than I was yesterday, and be better tomorrow than I was today. Taking life one day at a time.
