Hi I'm Lani

I'm from the Philippines. I am a college biology instructor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love science since I was a kid. I remember being amazed in plants, animals, stars and everything around me. I went to college and advanced education in biology feeling more amazed in the world we live in. I feel like everything is magnificent and perfect. I love teaching and find fulfillment in teaching students about how wonderful the world is and how lucky we are to be here.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom joined the church when I was 6. I was taught early in my childhood about the church but as I grew up I knew I have to know for myself if The Church of Jesus Christ if Latter-day Saints is true. I did not have a spectacular vision that lead me to believe it to be true. Instead, as I listened and study the teachings of the church, I came to realized that my love for science is really a feeling to know more of its author, even the Savior Jesus Christ. Everything are coming into place, every questions being answered, everything become meaningful. Slowly but surely the Holy Ghost manifest its confirmation of the truthfulness of the teachings of the church.

How I live my faith

I served a full time mission where I was able to teach about the gospel. I felt the happiness of sharing the gospel. During that time I realized my love for teaching which lead my to seek career in teaching. When I went home from mission, I tried and still trying to be a good teacher like the Savior did. I try to influence my students not just to be good in science but also to wonder of its beauty and to ask questions and seek for the truth. I tried to serve as much as I can in and out of the classroom by being friend to my students.
