Hi I'm Ashlee

I'm an Idaho farm girl turned Californian stay at home mom of 3. I'm a business owner and a blogger. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like delicious food, traveling, reading, studying, and creating beauty whenever I can. I also appreciate healthy living, green smoothies, and natural healing. I teach classes about Essential Oils and hope to inspire other moms to enjoy each day. I indulge in chocolate covered raisins and love Mahi Mahi tacos and guacamole. I think pedicures are a bit of heaven on earth and I don't get them often enough! I have lived in Idaho, Utah, Arizona and California. I hope our current coastal city is permanent because our family loves the beach and seeing the ocean. Above all, I just want each of my family members to just be happy and know who they are. I am happily married to the father of my 3 children - 2 boys and a baby girl. I accidentally became a home school mom to my older children and so far it is working for us! We own a property management company and I am also a Personal Development Coach for Life and Business. I am dreaming of a real vacation with my husband in the next few months.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found that every question I come up with can be answered within the framework of the church. Who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going? Why am I here? These questions of my heart (and others) can all be answered through Mormon doctrines. I am a Mormon because there is a living prophet, because I can return to live with our Father in Heaven again, because my family is forever, because my prayers get answered, and because revelation continues today. I am a Mormon because it is the same Church that Jesus Christ established in the New Testament. I am a Mormon because it makes me happy and provides clarity and direction for my family. I am a Mormon and I know that we have a living prophet that leads and guides the church through direct revelation from God. I am a Mormon and know Joseph Smith restored this gospel and is a true prophet. I am a Mormon and as I read the Book of Mormon, I have the Holy Ghost confirm that it is the truest book on earth. I am a Mormon and am forever indebted to our Savior because he provided a way for me to repent and be forgiven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith day by day. I pray every morning and night though my prayers can always be improved. I read the scriptures and enjoy listening to recorded talks from our church leadership. I attend the temple when I can because I feel strengthened after doing so. The temple brings me such peace that I hope to always live close to a temple so I can frequently attend. One night a week is family night at our house - we teach our children and enjoy being together. This time is dedicated to strengthening our family. Our lessons are not profound or fancy, but they do cause our children to learn more about Christ and the Church. At church, I feel lucky to teach the 8 - 10 year old girls in Sunday School. We are studying Jesus Christ, his mission, his life, and his example. We study the New Testament and I enjoy being with these girls who want a forum to talk freely. My family sometimes has the chance to serve other members of our congregation by making dinners for those in need, visiting, and even cleaning our church building! Our congregation also joins in on community service projects and I like the chance for my children to work along side community members.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are talented and capable, wise and generous. Mormon women understand their purpose and feel joy in taking care of others and their families. Mormons completely believe that women are absolutely equal to men. (If anything, women are more respected than the men!) Mormon women and men help one another fulfill their respective roles. I feel completely respected and honored in the church and by my husband. Show more Show less
