Hi I'm Sandy

I am a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great grandmother, and a teacher. I love my life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I went back to college and got my degree in Special Education when I was almost 50 years old. I have been working with Native American children on a reservation in Arizona since then. I decided to go back to college when my youngest of 8 children was in junior high. I got a master's degree in educational administration and even did an internship for a principal's license. That experience taught me that I did not want to be a principal. Teaching and working with the special education team is very rewarding. My husband and my family are the most important people in my life. We love to spend time together.

Why I am a Mormon

My husband and I joined the church when we were a young couple with four little kids. Our neighbor gave us a copy of the Book of Mormon and when I read it, I knew it was true. Shortly after that we moved to a different state and had no contact with the church for about a year. We felt something important was missing in our lives and decided to search out the missionaries again. They taught us and we joined the church. I feel inspired as I read the scriptures each day and I know God is directing my path. I serve the women in our church and learn so much from their examples of faith and courage. I know Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love me and I can share that love with others in my daily round.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to radiate the joy I feel to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Knowing that God lives and the Jesus atoned for my sins makes me feel optimistic and happy every day. I try to bring that spirit into everything I do. Although my work at school can be challenging it is very rewarding. My faith gives me the energy to do the things I do.
