Hi I'm Emily

Hi, I'm Emily. I'm a lucky wife, a mother of five fun kids, a marathoner, an outdoor lover, an amateur magician and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up sandwiched between two athletic brothers and my competitive nature kept me in their pick up games of any sport they'd let me play. So I guess you could say I was a "Tomboy" favoring my Wrangler jeans and red gingham cowgirl shirt to Barbies and tutus. My parents now admit that they wondered if I'd ever be interested in raising a family due to my lack of interest in playing "house" like my girl friends. I sure ended up proving them wrong! I LOVE being a mom and keeping a home. It's what I live for. All of my life's experience pre-motherhood are now translated into raising my five talented children. I've traveled the world, picked up a few hobbies including running, cooking, crafting and magic (wink) that are now proving handy in motherhood. I just wish I knew the magic tricks to getting kids to listen and getting to bed on time! I thank my children everyday for "picking me" in Heaven to be their mom. I am so grateful to know that our family is eternal and that all this love we feel in these relationships will last forever. It's so worth it!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's the religion that has the answers to ALL of my questions. I don't know how I'd live through my challenges without being able to turn to the hope this gospel brings. It all just makes sense: I know we have a Heavenly Father who loves us very much. He loves us so much that He gave us life, a great gift. But the greatest gift of all is His giving us our Savior, Jesus Christ. Through our imperfections we can become perfected in him and live for the hope that through our efforts we can live with both our Father and Savior and those we love in a very happy, peaceful heaven.

How I live my faith

I love the fact that we ALL serve in the Church. Everyone is called upon to use their talents and abilities to serve others. Often we discover our talents while serving. I currently serve as a missionary in our church. I am totally committed to sharing the hope and joy that this gospel brings to those interested. I love seeing the wonderful transformation that takes place when someone we teach realizes, through the Holy Spirit, the truthfulness of this gospel. It changes lives! And it can change yours! It is most definitely the "gospel of good news!"
