Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a junior in college, I love basketball (GO SUNS!), I get hyper off of Sierra Mist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently living the typical college student's life. School and work. I am majoring in elementary education and I coach a Jr. High volleyball and basketball team. I love every minute of it. The girls I coach are bright and still have that optimistic look on life. They are so fun to be around and could make anyone laugh. Their smiles are contagious as well as their energy. School keeps me busy and I feel like I never get enough sleep, but I am happy. I am happy because I know the truth, I know the purpose of this life and I know that I am not alone. I was sent to a wonderful family here on Earth. I am a sister to 4 sisters and 1 brother. I am a daughter of two wonderful parents. I get my calm disposition from my dad and my crazy loud personality from my mom. Family is the most important thing to me. They are my angels here on earth. And I am a daughter of our Heavenly Father. Just like I receive qualities from my earthly parents, I know I have received some of His qualities as well. I am made in his image. This is my life, nothing too extravagant, but it's mine and I am forever grateful for it!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for many reasons. It is not just what I believe, it is who I am. My whole life has been blessed because of our Savior and his atonement. Here is my simple testimony. I know this church to be true because of the sweet and soft whisperings of the Holy Ghost. It speaks to my heart and allows me to know truth. My Savior is my comfort and my salvation. He knows me by name and he is aware of my weaknesses. If nothing else Christ knows ME and loves ME. This is the one truth that I want everyone to know. I want everyone to know that Christ loves them each individually. I know this because of the tender mercies of the Lord I receive on a daily basis. I receive blessings that can only be from God because they are personal to me. They are personal to me because He knows me. I know that the Lord wants to bless us and it is up to us to allow him to do so. His arms are always stretched forth no matter who we are or what we have done. All we have to do is to return to Him. Prayer is the first step to coming closer to God. I have learned that through constant prayer God is never far from us. It is this comfort of knowing I am not alone that gets me through my trials and tribulations. It is knowing that the Lord has his own plan for me and that by doing my best to align myself with Him it is the surest way of being happy. The Lord wants us to be happy, he wants us to enjoy the journey. Christ atoned for my sins so I could be happy, so I could live with my family for all eternity. He has given me the blessing of eternal life and therefore eternal joy. The light of Christ lives in all of us. Our spirits recognize Him as our master and king. If we but only listen to the still small voice and soften our hearts we too can recognize and accept Him as our Savior and Redeemer. This is my testimony in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to be an example. I heard a quote once something along the lines of, "Live your life, so that people who don't know Christ will want to because they know you." I may not openly share my beliefs as often as I should, but I try to live my life as Christ would want me to. I try to examplify Him in my own life. I try my best and I know I fail and come up extremely short, but that is the beauty of the gospel. Christ makes up for all of my short comings. He is my greatest friend and my advocate with the Lord. In my home ward, I was able to serve as a nursery leader. It was my greatest opportunity to serve and teach the cute and adorable little children in my ward. They have an unfailing belief in Christ and they are pure and perfect in Christ. I also have the opportunity to be a visiting teacher. I get to visit a few sisters in my ward every month. This program was set in place for a purpose. Its purpose is to give comfort and service to those around us. Its purpose is to bring the light of Christ into every home. It is a way for us to be tools in the hands of our Lord. We each have a purpose in this life and if we allow ourselves the Lord can use us to bless the lives of others.
