Hi I'm Melissa

I'm a runner, a nature lover, and a mother of three girls. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom of three wonderful daughters and the wife of an amazing man. I try really hard to be there for my husband and daughters and to always put them first. I love being a mom and watching my daughters grow into people I want to be friends with. Before having my girls I taught middle school French. I also did graduate work in American History. I love history and feel like there is so much to be learned from those who have gone before us. I love big cities and all that they have to offer, but I also love being in nature and seeing the beautiful world Heavenly Father has created for us. I am a runner. I love my time alone when I am running. I am able to mediate, pray and enjoy the beauty all around me. I worry about the challenges my children will face as they grow up, but am grateful for the gospel that guides me in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has impacted every part of my life for good. I am so grateful for the guidance and direction the gospel gives me in raising my family and in living my life. I cannot imagine my life without the Holy Ghost and the knowledge of my Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ makes everything better in my life. He strengthens me and makes me a better person. I want to become more like Him and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints helps me do that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to be a good mother, a good wife and neighbor. I try my best to treat others the way Jesus Christ would treat them. I am so lucky to work with the 8-11 year old girls in my congregation. They are so much fun and have a wonderful enthusiasm for life. We try to teach them useful skills and have fun activities but most of all we want them to gain a knowledge of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's love for them; to know that they are special daughters of God. I volunteer weekly at my daughters' school and am active in the PTO. I love helping the school children with their math and reading skills. Through my daughters' school we are able to take dinner into a home for homeless women and their children. It is a wonderful opportunity to teach charity and Christ-like love to my daughters. It is a real blessing to serve in my community. I'm a long way from living my faith as Christ would, but I am trying to improve everyday.
