Hi I'm Loriel

I am a stay at home mom. I love BBQ brisket - Texas style. One day I want to go deer hunting. I am a mormon.

About Me

I didn't have the most ideal childhood and was taken in by an LDS family in Austin, Texas when I was only 15 years old. I'm a convert to the LDS church, baptized in December 1999. It took me many years to realize and trust that Christ would never abandon me like I felt my parents did. I am married now and we have one 5 yr old daughter and one one the way. I also have the privilege to be a foster mom and we hope to adopt one day. In college I studied speech pathology My husband is a high school English and ELL teacher. I love, I mean absolutely Love, bonnet movies. Such as Pride and Prejudice by A&E, Emma by BBC and Little Dorrit by BBC. I am also a dog trainer and can train most any dog you give me. We have boxer dog, named Rocky V. I love to bake, cook, sew, knit (learning how to) and to read novels (when I have time).

Why I am a Mormon

Well like I stated in the "about me" section, I am a convert to the church. Long story put short - My biological mom was heavily into drugs and couldn't take care of me so I lived in a kids home for a few years. After which I went and lived with my biological dad for a short few months then he decided that he didn't want the full responsibility of raising me so he said I needed to go back to the kids home or find my own place to live. I was hardly 15 years old at that time. The next day I went to school and told my best friend Sarah what was going on and that night she went home and told her family. The next day at school she told me that her family wanted me to come and live with them. I moved in that weekend. The reason why I joined the church is because I witnessed the love and compassion that my new family had for me. Even though things were not easy by any means. They truly taught me, through example, what it truly meant to be loved and to live as a disciple of Christ.

How I live my faith

At church I am a youth Sunday School teacher. I teach the 13-14 year olds. They are truly amazing young people. I have been teaching this class for two years now. I have also been a children's primary teacher where I taught the 3 year olds. I am also a visiting teacher to 3 amazing ladies in my ward where every month I get the privilege to visit them and share in what is happening in their individual lives.
