Hi I'm Nichole Christensen

I'm a photographer, a mother, a life-long learner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a photographer, a mother of 2 boys, a scholar, a teacher, a baker, a wife, and a Mormon. My name is Nichole and I'm 28 years old. I have a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, a Master of Education in Early Childhood Education, and am currently working towards a Master of Arts in General English. I love learning! I love being able to express myself through photography or music. I play the piano and enjoy singing with various choral ensembles. I love to bake and create things. I love movies and going on dates with my husband and spending time together with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a family where attending church each Sunday was the norm. As a teenager I didn't really get it. I knew my Savior loved me and I believed that I had a Father in Heaven who knew me inside and out, but I just didn't want to be held back by all of His commandments. It wasn't until I was 19 years old that I realized those commandments were for my own good. You see, as a mother I have rules for my children. They may seem ridiculous to my kids, but I KNOW those rules are what is keeping them safe and happy. Our Heavenly Father feels the same way. All my life I was a feather blowing in the wind. I'd be blowing in one direction and then another and then another. It wasn't until my feet became grounded and firm in my faith in the Lord, Jesus Christ, that I realized who I am and what true happiness is. Happiness is family. An eternal family! Happiness is having a relationship with my Savior and with God. Happiness is knowing that no matter what happens in my life or in the world, I am going to be okay! I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only church on the earth that has the fullness of Christ's gospel. I know that a boy named Joseph Smith prayed to his Father in Heaven to know which of all the many churches to join, and he saw God and Jesus Christ. I know he translated the Book of Mormon from an ancient record kept by the inhabitants of the New World who lived at the same time as the times in the New Testament. I know there is a prophet on the earth today, Thomas S. Monson, and that he guides and directs Christ's church righteously. I know that I will be with my family not until death do us part, but for time and all eternity. THIS knowledge is true happiness and my reason for being a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the women's organization for the LDS church. We are one of the oldest and largest women's organizations in the world! We bring meals to families who are in need. We teach each other how to sew and craft and cook. We learn about our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ each Sunday. Once a week we meet together at a park or someone's house for a little "Mom & Tots" group. We support each other through this crazy roller coaster we call life. I have no idea what my life would be like without these women that support and love me, despite my many flaws. I love being a part of this beautiful, compassionate society of women who teach me about charity, love, and service each and every day!
