Hi I'm Mia

I love Friday night dates with my husband, teaching, being a creative Mom, lunch with my friends & scuba diving. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

It seems like only yesterday, I was a child, sledding down the mountain in my backyard and dancing on stage. Ever since I was young, my family and friends have been a strength and guide to me. I believe good friends teach, encourage and support one another. One of my closest friends is my husband. We have had a great life with ups and downs. We enjoy a date once a week, traveling, snowmobiling, scuba diving and sitting on the couch watching our favorite shows! We are opposites in many ways which makes life interesting and have balance. We have four children ages 12, 9, 5 and 6 months! I love every minute I spend with my 8 month old baby. Life is full of family activities; with sports, dance and church. We try to balance what is most important for our family. We love our kids and pray for them every night. I know my Father in Heaven loves me and is aware of me. I know hears my prayers and I have felt his influence in my life. Life is too hard to go at it alone. I need the Savior's help. He is a constant guide in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon, the oldest of 6 children. I was taught from an early age and I continued to study the teachings throughout my life. I have never questioned the principles of the gospel. I watched my parents serve others and saw them be loving toward one another. I constantly see firsthand how living the principles of the gospel can protect and strengthen families from things that can tear them apart. I am so grateful for this very real protection. Families are under attack and I am concerned about protecting my family from bad influences. I am grateful to know that through the blessings of the temple, I can be sealed with my family for eternity. Death isn't the end of a family bond. If we live worthy we can be protected here on earth and live together forever.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints we are asked to give of our time and talents. I have enjoyed serving the members of my Ward and Stake. I truly love to serve others. It makes me feel happy inside especially when I have been feeling down. For several years I served a friend with a brain injury. We went to the same high school and were the same age. Her life changed quickly when she suffered a brain injury. Suddenly her life was so different from mine. Her Husband and children didn't have a mother in their home because she had to live at an assisted living center. Walking was difficult and her memory capacity was significantly diminished. Every time I visited her, or brought her into my home for a family dinner and lesson, I felt like I was the recipient. Her trial taught me to be less selfish and more grateful. I was able to focus on the things that matter. She was happy to be with me but my family and I were blessed more. Each time I have been asked to serve in my church whether it was with young children, teenagers, or women, if I give my very best effort--I have been blessed. By serving others I gain happiness, knowledge, guidance, and my testimony grows. I have found that if I attend church I am always glad I went! I am constantly trying to be a better person each day. Some days I do well and on other days I find myself needing much improvement. I am grateful for my Savior and his example and love.
