Hi I'm Brent

I'm a husband, a father, an IT professional, an author, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to my wife for over thirty-one years. We have two grown children. Our son is about to finish junior college, the other is working with the hopes of furthering her education soon. We have three rambunctious Pembroke Welsh Gorgis that keep the home lively. I'm an IT professional. I love working with computers. I also love to write novels. I currently have two published novels and am working on seven other novel stories. I enjoy photography, hiking, bikinng, running, swimming, skiing, and just being outdoors. I became a convert to the church in my mid-twenties. I was scheduled to be baptized on a Saturday. The friday night before, not realizing it at the time, I met my future wife at a church dance. The rest as they say...is history.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a convert to the church. I've been a member now for 32-plus years. When I was a baby I was baptized Catholic...my mom's religion. Growing up I had a step-father who claimed to be an Atheist. My mom attempted to take me to Mass at least once a month when I was younger. When I became a teenager, my best friend's father was the small town's Methodist pastor. I attended the youth group functions and Sunday services of the Methodist church during my high school years. I had not even heard of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints until I moved to Arizona. By chance I had a roommate in the house where I rented one of the rooms that was a return missionary. He got me interested in attending the service meetings on Sundays. One thing lead to another to where I felt in my heart that the gospel was true. I agreed to the Missionary lessons and was baptized by my roommate. The gospel has been an important part of my life.

How I live my faith

I attend our service meetings with my wife on Sundays. Together we put together and print the Sacrament program used in our Sacrament meeting each Sunday. My wife also has a Visiting Teaching calling where she visits with three women each month. I also have a Home Teaching calling where I visit three families once a month. These callings help us to help others within our congregation (Ward). My wife and I both enjoy reading the scriptures. In Sunday School this year we are studying the New Testament of the Bible. We also have the Book of Mormon, Doctrine of Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price as additional scripture references. The Book of Mormon specifically relates Jesus Christ's visit to the Americas during his time on Earth.
