Hi I'm Jon

I grew up in McLean, Virginia and am currently a Chiropractor at Nielson Family Chiropractic... And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life keeps very busy as a full-time Chiropractor, husband and father. I love educating and striving to serve every family in the Twin Falls, Idaho area through chiropractic care and functional medicine protocols. I'm happily married and we have four wonderful children. Over the years I've learned that life is a precious gift and how blessed I am to have amazing family and friends... I enjoy fitness and most everything in the outdoors including hiking, boating, fishing and four wheeling.

Why I am a Mormon

A good friend gave me the Book of Mormon with a challenge to find out for myself if it was true. My first and greatest desire was to find out if there was a living God that could hear and answer my prayers. So I began to pray and read. I received answers while I was reading the Book of Mormon. I prayerfully read the Book of Mormon with one goal and desire. I wanted to know if the book is really the word of God just like the Holy Bible. Within a few days of reading everyday I received a powerful assurance that this book is exactly what it claims to be. The word of God. So, I started going to church and attend classes at the LDS institute. I felt Gods spirit when attending these meetings and that has made all the difference. Now I find true joy in striving to have a close relationship with my Father in Heaven and his son Jesus Christ. Consequently, my life has been enriched beyond any expectations and its been so helpful in overcoming life's many challenges.

How I live my faith

My faith is centered on Jesus Christ and his teachings. I live that faith by striving my best to discover God's truth and understanding how to apply it in my life. My hope is that I can live christian principles that will bless the lives of my family, friends and community. Ultimately, I'm trying to do what Jesus asked of us, "If you love me keep my commandments." Though far from perfect, I am trying to keep the commandments as I understand them. The commandments have been taught by ancient and modern prophets and apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ. So, in 2012 that translates into striving to be the best christian I can become. It means trying to be a good husband and provider that leads with love in our home. It means trying to be a good father, friend, and mentor to our four precious children. It means going to church, reading holy scriptures, and trying to be of service to others. There is a primary song sung in our church that states, "I'm trying to be like Jesus" and "I'm following in his ways." Though some days are better than others, that is how I live my faith.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

I do now. I've been a practicing Mormon for most of my adult life and my belief in a living prophet has grown to knowledge and understanding over a lengthy process. Show more Show less
