Hi I'm Seth

I was born in Illinois. I'm a father of 4 and have a beautiful wife! I love having fun and being outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Illinois, Iowa and Arizona, the latter of which I graduated from High School. After serving a wonderful two year mission in the Philippines, I graduated from college. I married my beautiful wife when I was 24 years old and we now have four children, two of which are identical twin boys! Early on in my marriage, I was working a full time job, going to college full time and working a 2nd part time job on the weekends. During this time, my wife and I had been married for three years and we had three children in diapers. Life was incredibly busy and stressful but we made it through those tough years and have a deeper love and respect for one another. I know that trials can make us stronger and deepen our love for one another and the Lord. I enjoy many things, namely hunting, fishing, camping, sports and spending time with my family. Life is wonderful!

Why I am a Mormon

As I grew up in the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormon church), I often times had strong spiritual experiences as I listened to beautiful music and wonderful teachers. I know that those feelings came from the Spirit. It was a testimony to me that the things I was listening to were true. As I matured, I read the entire Book of Mormon and prayed to our Heavenly Father and asked him if the things I had read were true. I felt a calmness come over me and knew that the book was true. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and strive to follow his example. I believe many people in this world confuse pleasure for happiness, so my wife and I are raising our children in this gospel because we know that true happiness comes from following Christ.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as a Bishop in our ward. In that calling and responsibility, I have the opportunity to work closely with the youth. I enjoy the many spiritual experiences I've had with them. I have learned a lot from watching their faithful examples and seeing their love for the Lord. They have high moral standards and are a light and joy to those around them. As part of this calling, I also have the privilege of associating with the wonderful adults of our ward. It is such a blessing to be friends with so many who share the same beliefs and love the Lord as I do. There is a synergistic strength we receive as we learn from one another and work to raise our families in this sometimes difficult world.
