Hi I'm Christian

I grew up in the Rocky Mountains. I have a passion for life, family, and sports. I am a US Army physician. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a lovely wife and am the father of five sons and one daughter. I am a pediatric radiologist in the Army. I was in Marine Corps bootcamp one week after high school graduation and served in the Gulf War. I lived among the Hmong refugees from Laos for a couple of years. I have Bachelor and Masters Degrees of Science. I've been a bus boy and dishwasher, ski technician, landscaper, door to door salesman, waiter, banker, and graduate student teacher/lab instructor. Family is my hobby. I have a passion for snow skiing, but love to water ski, golf, play tennis, and engage in many other sporting activities. I also enjoy music and theatre. Camping is a favorite family activity.

Why I am a Mormon

I have a strong belief in the Bible and in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and as my Savior. I am Mormon because I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. I was converted through reading the Book of Mormon another testiment of Jesus Christ and gaining a witness of it's truth to my heart, mind, and spirit through the Holy Spirit. Once I knew the Book of Mormon was true, I knew the Book's origin was real. The Book of Mormon and modern scripture, along with living Prophets and Apostles, have clarified the answers to life's most important questions such as where I came from before this life, why I am here on this earth, and where I will go when I pass on. I had found it difficult to answer these and other important questions through an appeal to the Bible only. The Book of Mormon and Bible are complimentary to one another and help to clarify important doctrine. Christ leads His Church today, The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-Day Saints. He leads it through a Prophet and 12 Apostles who continue to receive revelation and guidance from Christ for us in our day. Knowing that Christ has called a Prophet like Moses or Peter in our day brings peace and a strong foundation into my life in this wonderful, but often chaotic world. I count my testimony of, and membership in, Christs true church my greatest treasure and of most worth to me in this life.

How I live my faith

I have been called by Christ (through my Bishop) to work with the teenage boys ("young men") in my congregation. I and two other men took 10 of these boys on a skiing high adventure last March! We (and the Church) engage in the Boy Scouting program. On a weekly basis, we meet with the young men (sometimes we combine with the young women--teenage girls) for fun, team building, sports and spiritual activities. I am also a lay teacher of the young men in my congregation. I am also assigned to watch over three families in our congregation; and so at least once a month, I and my son go to their homes and share a spiritual message and provide any needed service. I do not drink alcohol, smoke tobacco, or take drugs. I am faithful to my wife. I try to read the scriptures daily. We have family prayer and scripture study daily. I do not use profanity or view pornography.
