Hi I'm Amy

I laugh. I live. I love. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Phoenix, AZ to loving parents who wanted a huge family- and they got it! I am the fourth child of 8 (3 boys, 5 girls) and we have a blast together- I love my family! I love to have a good time. One of my favorite things on this earth is laughter. I believe that we should laugh atleast 10 times a day to stay healthy. That is why it is so important to make every situation a good time. I love to throw parties and be around people! I love quoting movies and tv shows and pretty much anything quotable, you can alwyas tell how much I love a movie by how often I quote it. I love the M&Ms of life- music and movies! I have a very deep, passionate, connection with music. Nothing can have a greater impact on my mood! I have recently started writing my own music inspired by different experiences I have. I love to sing, and I am so grateful for that gift God has given me. Movies are my other passion. My favorite days are when I can curl up at night on my couch and watch a good movie. I enjoy all genres- comedy, romance, action, horror (occasionally.... I have to be in a really good mood and the sun has to be out!)- you name it I love it. I love life.... so I live it.

Why I am a Mormon

There are two main reasons why I am a mormon. Both are very simple, and yet these two simple facts have helped me know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and the only way to experience happiness and joy that will last forever! (1) I have a Heavenly Father who knows who I am and loves me. The creator of heaven and earth, this all powerful, all knowing being, loves silly ol' me. He knows my every desire and as I strive to build a relationship with him He blesses me abundantly. I am His daughter, and I have great worth in His eyes.... and it is only His eyes that matter to me. (2) The Book of Mormon is true! It is the word of God. I have read it numerous times and every time I do my life changes for the better! It is physical proof that God loves all of His children and He has not stopped talking to us! I can be in a terrible mood, but after I read the Book of Mormon, everything gets better! Nothing false, could ever produce such positive results!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the best I can in everything I do. God doesn't expect us to be perfect by ourselves, that is why He gave us His son, Jesus Christ. It is by following Christ's example and trying to live as He would that we obtain true and lasting happiness. I live my faith by being an example to those around me. Helping them see that they don't need "wordly things" to have fun! I am also serving the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the South Dakota Rapid City mission!

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Amy
A testimony is a statement of something you know to be true. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, we can have a testimony of the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ given to us by the Holy Ghost. A testimony can be gained by study and prayer, because Heavenly Father loves us, He will always answer our prayers. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Amy
Faith is the first principle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is not just a stagnant belief, but faith in Jesus Christ requires action. True faith will drive you to change your ways to become like the Savior. You can develop and strengthen your faith by being obedient to God's commandments. Show more Show less
